This story begins in Maryland, with a client who had questions no one else could answer. A divorced mother suspected her ex-husband, who had relocated to New Castle, Delaware, was violating court orders related to their custody arrangement. She didn’t want drama. She didn’t want revenge. She just wanted the truth.
So she called On Time Investigations LLC.
The Assignment
The court order clearly stated no overnight guests of the opposite sex when the children were present. It was a clause designed to protect the kids during a sensitive adjustment period
but the client believed it was being broken.
Her ex’s social media was clean. The kids came home saying nothing. But something felt off.
We were hired to observe three specific weekends where the children would be staying in New Castle.
The Surveillance
Our Maryland based investigator, licensed in both states, traveled discreetly to New Castle and set up in a legal surveillance zone near the property.
What we documented over two weekends included:
- A woman arriving in the evening and staying through the night
- Shared grocery trips and affectionate contact around the kids
- No attempt to hide the cohabitation
Everything was timestamped, photographed, and observed within legal limits.
The third weekend, however, told a different story. The woman was gone. The father looked agitated, the children distant. Something had changed.
The Report
We compiled a detailed report of our findings, including:
- Time-stamped surveillance photos
- Vehicle registration details
- Observational notes on interactions and overnight stays
The report was turned over to the client’s attorney, who used it to file a motion to revisit custody terms in Maryland Family Court.
The Outcome
The judge reviewed the evidence and ordered:
- A temporary pause on overnight custody until further review
- Mandatory compliance reporting from the father
- Reopening of co-parenting mediation
